Effects of sensory stimulation on balance and postural control in diabetic neuropathy: systematic review

چکیده
Diabetic peripheral neuropathy is a complication of Diabetes Mellitus and the most common noncommunicable disease. It involves decreases in sensations Lower extremity strength leading to reduce dynamic stability balance postural control. The purpose study review effects sensory stimulation interventions on Balance Postural control neuropathy. A systematic was conducted following centers for Goggle scholar, PUBMED science direct database using keywords Sensory Stimulation, Balance, control, time frame search from 2006 2021. resulted 18 articles with duration 1 day 26 weeks total population 1,422 diabetes type I II patients year There were strong evidences noticeable difference DPN. Based our analysis results, stated that Vibration, Plantar Massages, Kinesiotaping, Rocker shoe, Vibromedical insole, Conventional exercises proprioception stimulation, Mechanical noise have shown significant Whereas, offloading devices did not show any remarkable variance. currently existing studies require clear recommendation whether which intervention more effective. Thus, longer are required improve Neuropathy.

Effects of Balance Training on Postural Control in Athletes with Chronic Ankle Instability: A Systematic Review
Objective The Objective Ankle sprains are among the most common injuries in athletes. One of the limitations of people with chronic ankle instability is the lack of postural control. Balance and coordination training are among the most common interventions for people with chronic ankle instability. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate the effect of balance training on postural co...
متن کاملThe Influence of Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy on Local Postural Muscle and Central Sensory Feedback Balance Control
Poor balance control and increased fall risk have been reported in people with diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN). Traditional body sway measures are unable to describe underlying postural control mechanism. In the current study, we used stabilogram diffusion analysis to examine the mechanism under which balance is altered in DPN patients under local-control (postural muscle control) and cent...

Purpose. The aim of this paper is to review the published studies on the characteristics of impairments in the postural control and gait performance in diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN). Methods. A review was performed by obtaining publication of all papers reporting on the postural control and gait performance in DPN from Google Scholar, Ovid, SAGE, Springerlink, Science Direct (SD), EBSCO ...
متن کاملPostural Balance and Peripheral Neuropathy
Postural control can be defined as the control of the body’s position in space for the purposes of balance and orientation [1]. A definition of balance is the ability to maintain or return the body's centre of gravity within the limits of stability that are determined by the base of support (i.e., the area of the feet) [2]; while spatial orientation defines our natural ability to maintain our b...
متن کاملEffects of vibrating insoles on standing balance in diabetic neuropathy.
This study investigated the effects on standing balance of random vibrations applied to the plantar side of the feet by vibrating insoles in subjects with neuropathy and nondisabled subjects. In four different conditions (eyes open or closed and with or without an attention-demanding task [ATD]), subjects with neuropathy secondary to diabetes mellitus (n = 17) and nondisabled subjects (n = 15) ...
